| * | Wifi in Fullerton: There are two types of coverage in Fullerton;
1) Public Coverage. This is sponsored by the City of Fullerton in contracting with CDCE Inc.(funding was provided by the "Fullerton Redevelopment Agency"), the network can be accessed @ www.FullertonWireless.com over an area of 24 blocks in downtown Fullerton. The bounds are Malvern to the north/ Lemon to the East/ Valencia to the South/ Drake to the West (according to the map in the April 05 issue of Focus on Fullerton). Of course reception quality will vary at the edges of the zone, and depend on you location inside or outside a building. This service is FREE at least for 2005. 2) Private "Hotspots": These are commercial Wifi networks, therefore you have to pay by subscription or per access sessions. They are usually small zones, no more than a few feet outside of the sponsoring/Hosting business. The signal is usually stronger INSIDE the location (as opposed to OUTSIDE for the city network).The following is a list of the sites that we are aware of as of 06/2005: Wifi means Wireless Fidelity and refers to the 802.11b or g protocols of wireless frequencies. All computers equiped with 802.11b/g network cards, also known as "Airport" by Macintosh users, can gain access to those networks. All you need is a credit card (sorry kids).
