The bookmobile goes to the stops once a week. Books and videos are checked out for 3 weeks. Overdue charges are 10 cents per week. Free library cards are issued to children and adults with identification. The summer reading club is free and open to all children who read.

Available services: Books for children, books for adults, children's videos, spanish language materials, large print books, paperbacks, magazines, books on tape, new books.


History:

1955: Fullerton introduces the first bookmobile service in orange county. The vehicle holds 2,000 books and makes six weekly stops.

1970: The old bookmobile is replaced. More books and stops are added.

1984: Friends of the Fullerton Library donate over half the cost of a new bookmobile, with room for 1,500 additional cassettes, magazines and books, and linked to the library's computerized system.

2000: New bookmobile arrives, with cleaner burning systems, expanded shelf space and more computerization. Fifteen stops are scheduled.
