RailRoad Days
Railroad days is an annual event that started in 1999 in order to raise funds and awareness for the future Railroad Museum in Fullerton, California. This year's specifics are listed below:

Fact Sheet: Fullerton Railroad Days 2005

What: Seventh annual Fullerton Railroad Days

When: 9 am to 5 pm, May 5 and 6, 2007

Where: Fullerton Train Station

120 E Santa Fe Avenue

(exit 91 Freeway at Harbor Blvd and go north)

Who: co-sponsored by the city and Fullerton Railway Plaza Association, Inc., a non-profit educational group formed to support the development of the Southern California Railroad Museum in Fullerton

Why: Almost 100 Amtrak passenger trains, Metrolink commuter trains, and BNSF freight trains roll through Orange County each weekday. This free, family-friendly community fair aims to raise awareness of railroad safety, especially for children, and remind folks of the area’s historical connection to the railroad.

Cost: All model railroad exhibits and tours of trains are free.

To Do: Local businesses and community groups will staff educational, entertainment, food and souvenir booths both days.

Parking: Free all-day parking in downtown parking lots and multi-level parking structures. Train station parking limited to rail passengers. Note: Santa Fe Avenue will be closed May 1 and 2 between Pomona Ave. and Lemon St.

Idea: Enjoy riding Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner train to Fullerton from one of the many stations between San Diego, Los Angeles and points north.
