Please Recycle
There are many places set-up to recycle trash in Fullerton.
. In 1995 the city of Fullerton and MG Disposal implemented a recycling program in order to divert the amount of waste being sent to landfills. The "Recycle Fullerton" program takes household trash to a Material Recovery Facility, where the recyclables are sorted out of the waste stream. Beginning 01/24/00 yard waste collection program was initiated which made use of separate trash cans (with yellow stickers) and separate trash collection trucks to collect organic yard waste only (no food or building materials). For 2009, the city implemented the use of 3 distinct trash bins per residence: yard waste, recyclables and household trash. This program is apparently quite successful, since it is claimed that 70% of trash collected no longer ends up in the landfill.
